Richard E. Nisbett is a Research Professor Emeritus at the Research Center for Group Dynamics. He is known for his work on cultural differences in thinking and reasoning, environmental effects on intelligence, and ways of improving reasoning and intelligence.

He also the Theodore M Newcomb Distinguished University Professor Emeritus of Psychology, at the University of Michigan.
