Eugene Burnstein, Professor Emeritus of Psychology, is known for his research on the cognitive processes underlying social influence and decision making in groups. More recently, Burnstein has used evolutionary models of altruism and foraging to analyze self-sacrifice, cooperation, and adaptation to social change.
