BIO

Jennifer Pierce is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Michigan. She completed her undergraduate work at the University of Michigan-Dearborn and received her doctorate in Social and Health Psychology from Wayne State University. As a principal investigator at the Chronic Pain and Fatigue Research Center, she conducts research aimed at understanding the impact of adversity and trauma on pain and sensory sensitivity.  She is also interested in extending this mechanistic work to interventions for people with pain, as well as for individuals who experience trauma and exhibit a pain vulnerable phenotype.
