In the summer of 2007 Dr. Jager received his Ph.D in Developmental
Psychology from the University of Michigan. Dr. Jager’s research
attempts to explicate the complex relation between the constellation
of one’s social statuses, the development of one’s sense of self, and
the growth of functioning (e.g., mental health, substance use/abuse,
and physical health) over the course of early adolescence and young
adulthood. Finally, while examining the above, Dr. Jager pays
particular attention to (1) contextual transitions associated with
early adulthood and their impact on functioning, and (2) the dual
impact of distal/adolescent and proximal/early adulthood factors on
subsequent adjustment.
